our story
In 1999, following the call of God and with the support of Peter Howard-Browne, Gavin and Rhoda Jordaan relocated from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, to Madagascar. Their mission: create a church to spread God's Word in Antananarivo, the capital.
In 2000, Vision Valley Church (VVC) was planted. In 2006 it moved into its venue in Andranomena. At first the church met in a tent on the land while a hall was being constructed. Once it was finished, the church began to have its regular meetings there.
In January 2009 Kim and Sue Midgley relocated from Capital City Church International (3Ci) in Pretoria, and in March, with the support of Gavin, Peter, and the eldership team in 3Ci, took up the responsibility of leading the VVC eldership team.
In August 2009 Vision Valley Church was renamed to Tana City Church (TCC). This was a complex decision but one full of conviction in the light of the future of the church and its growing vision to impact the city.
In February 2012, the decision was made to launch another meeting elsewhere in the city. The TCC Analakely meeting was planted. As of 2015 it has about 100-120 members. They also do a weekly ministry to the poor in the inner city.
In August 2016, TCC moved to its current venue in Talatamaty.
We now stand on the brink of an exciting future as we follow God's work through us in Antananarivo and all of Madagascar.
